got this out of it, lcd's a bit faded and has a purplish area but i hope to replace that with another spare lcd i have for this watch, needs a bit of a polish too but overall i like this one

Before replacing the LCD panel you might want to try the module out of the case with a battery and see if the rainbow rings and faintness disappear- the rings sometimes appear when the panel is pressed too hard against the case either by the wrong size battery, a speck of muck or the wrong size (too thick) rubber case gasket.
