Looks like a wall, doesn’t it? Powered by 8 D batteries, this was GE’s flagship ghetto blaster in 1983. It offered “feather touch” controls, the MLS music search system, stereo & loudness switches, balance, bass and treble control.
I purchased this model in high school. Some of my friends teased me because they had JVC, Sony, Panasonic etc models. They said mine was cheap because it was GE. The teasing stopped the minute I turned it on and cranked up the volume. They were in shock just how loud it was with absolutely zero distortion.
I attach the right and left speakers out plugs to an amplifier. The low frequency deep bass is incredible through my Jensen 15″ speakers. This radio sounds great! I’ve had it since it was new in the early 80’s. I want another one. I’ve never found another boom box that even comes close to how good this one sounds through an amplifier. Call me if you have one for sale. GE 3-5258a. Todd 2622202852 todd.niles7831904@gmail.com

I had the same radio in the early eighties and it was awesome I would love to repurchase it again and enjoy it once again.
